Car
If you are driving to Kerala Backwaters Tourism in Changanassery, start from the nearest major city, Kottayam. Head south on the NH183 highway for approximately 20 kilometers. You will pass through beautiful landscapes and small villages. Continue straight until you reach Changanassery, where you should follow signs to the backwaters. Upon entering Changanassery, look for local signage directing you to the Kerala Backwaters. Parking is available nearby.
Bus
To reach Kerala Backwaters by public bus, head to the Kottayam bus station. Buses from Kottayam to Changanassery run frequently throughout the day. The journey takes about 30-45 minutes and costs approximately INR 30. Once you arrive at the Changanassery bus stand, you can either walk (about 15 minutes) or take an auto-rickshaw to the Kerala Backwaters Tourism area. Auto-rickshaw fares are around INR 50-100, depending on your negotiation skills.
Train
If you're coming from a different part of Kerala, you can take a train to Changanassery railway station. Check the Indian Railways website for schedules and ticket prices, which typically range from INR 100 to 500 depending on your class of travel. Once you arrive at Changanassery station, you can take a taxi or auto-rickshaw to the Kerala Backwaters Tourism area. The fare for a taxi should be approximately INR 150-200.
Auto-rickshaw
