Car
If you are driving from Kochi, take National Highway 66 (NH66) north towards Thalassery. The journey is approximately 100 km and should take around 2.5 to 3 hours depending on traffic. Once you reach Thalassery, look for signs directing you to the New Bus Stand. The fort is located near this landmark at Pilakool, Thalassery, Kerala 670103. Parking is available near the fort.
Bus
From major cities in Kerala such as Kochi, Kozhikode, or Kannur, you can take a State Transport Bus to Thalassery. Buses frequently run to Thalassery from these locations. Upon reaching the Thalassery New Bus Stand, the fort is just a short walk away. It is advisable to ask locals for directions if needed, as the fort is a known landmark.
Train
If you prefer traveling by train, the nearest railway station is Thalassery railway station. You can catch a train from major cities like Kochi, Kozhikode, or Kannur. Once you arrive at Thalassery station, you can take an auto-rickshaw or taxi to reach the fort. The distance from the railway station to the fort is approximately 3 km, which should cost around ₹50-₹100 for an auto-rickshaw.
Local Transport
Once in Thalassery, you can use auto-rickshaws or taxis to reach the fort if you are not within walking distance. Make sure to agree on a fare beforehand or ask the driver to use the meter. Additionally, you can opt for local buses that may have stops near the fort depending on your exact location.
