Start from the Kohima local market, which is a central location. Head east on the main road (National Highway 2) for about 1 km until you reach the junction at Old NST Bus Station. At the junction, take a left onto the road leading uphill towards Upper Bayavü Hill. Continue walking for approximately 1.5 km on this road. You will pass by several local shops and eateries. Keep an eye out for signage pointing to the Nagaland State Museum. As you approach, you will see the entrance on your right. The total walking distance is about 2.5 km and should take around 30-40 minutes.

From the Kohima local market, find an auto-rickshaw stand. Take an auto-rickshaw heading towards Upper Bayavü Hill. Make sure to tell the driver you want to go to the Nagaland State Museum.
