Auto Rickshaw
From any central point in Howrah, find an auto rickshaw (commonly known as 'toto'). Tell the driver to take you to 'Shibpur B. Garden'. The fare should be around ₹30-₹50, depending on your location. The auto rickshaw will drop you near the entrance of the B. Garden New Gate, which is the closest access point to The Great Banyan Tree.
Bus
Look for a local bus heading towards Shibpur. You can catch a bus from any major bus stop in Howrah. Buses with routes to Shibpur are frequent, and the fare is usually around ₹10-₹20. Once you reach the 'B. Garden' stop, disembark and walk towards the New Gate entrance, which is a short distance away from the bus stop.
Walking
If you're staying near the Howrah Railway Station, you can choose to walk to The Great Banyan Tree. Head southeast from the station towards the B. Garden area. The distance is approximately 3 kilometers, and it should take about 30-40 minutes on foot. Follow the main road, and keep heading towards the B. Garden New Gate, which will lead you directly to the tree.
