Getting There

  • Car

    From Leh, head south on the Leh-Kargil Road (NH-1). After approximately 12 km, take a left turn onto the road leading to the village of Thiksey. Continue on this road for around 7 km until you reach the Thiksey Monastery. From here, follow the signs toward the village of Chuchot, which is a further 5 km. As you approach Chuchot, look for the road that veers off towards the north. Continue on this road for about 6 km, and you will see signs directing you to Samburma Spring. The entire journey should take about 40-50 minutes, depending on traffic and road conditions.

  • Public Transportation

    From Leh, you can catch a shared taxi or minibus heading towards Kargil or Thiksey from the main taxi stand. Inform the driver that you are going to Samburma Spring, and they will drop you off at the nearest point. This will cost around ₹100-₹150 per person. Once you are dropped off near Chuchot, you may need to walk about 2 km to reach Samburma Spring. Ensure to ask locals for the best walking route as signs may not be prominent.
