Walking
Starting from the main market in Leh, head south towards the Leh Palace. Once you reach the palace, continue walking down the road towards the Zangsti Hemis Complex. Follow the signs pointing towards Hemis Monastery, and you will eventually reach the entrance of the Zangsti Hemis Complex, which is the starting point for Trekking in Ladakh.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Leh. Start from the main market, cycling towards the Leh Palace. After passing the palace, follow the signs to Hemis Monastery. The route is scenic and will take you through beautiful landscapes. Once you reach the Zangsti Hemis Complex, park your bicycle and prepare for your trek.
Local Bus
From the main bus station in Leh, take a local bus heading towards Hemis Monastery. Buses run frequently throughout the day, and the fare is minimal. Once you arrive at Hemis, you can either walk to the Zangsti Hemis Complex, which is a short distance away, or ask the bus driver for the best drop-off point. The trek starts from this complex.
Taxi (Shared)
Look for a shared taxi at the taxi stand in Leh. Share a ride with other trekkers heading to Hemis Monastery. Ensure to tell the driver you want to go to the Zangsti Hemis Complex. After arriving, you can walk to the starting point of the trek. This is a great way to meet fellow travelers.
