Car
If you are driving from any major city in Madhya Pradesh, you can use the National Highway 44 (NH44). For instance, from Bhopal, take NH46 and then merge onto NH44 towards Gwalior. The fort is located in the city of Gwalior, which is approximately 340 km from Bhopal and should take around 5-6 hours by car. Once you enter Gwalior, follow the signs towards Gwalior Fort, which is situated on a hill. Parking is available at the base of the fort, but it may incur a small fee.
Train
Take a train to Gwalior Railway Station, which is well connected to major cities. From the railway station, you can hire a taxi or take an auto-rickshaw to Gwalior Fort, which is about 3 km away. Expect to pay around ₹150-₹200 for a taxi ride. The fort is a well-known landmark, so you can easily ask your driver to take you there.
Bus
You can also take a state-run or private bus to Gwalior from various cities in Madhya Pradesh. Buses frequently run from Bhopal, Indore, and Jabalpur to Gwalior. Upon arriving at the Gwalior bus stand, you can take an auto-rickshaw or taxi to Gwalior Fort, which is approximately 2.5 km away. The auto-rickshaw fare may cost around ₹100.
