Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the nearest major city, such as Jhansi or Gwalior. From Jhansi, take the NH 39 towards Orchha. The distance is approximately 17 km, and it takes around 30 minutes to reach. Once you arrive in Orchha, follow the signs to Raja Mahal, which is located within the Orchha Fort complex. You can park your car near the entrance of the fort.

Public Transportation - Bus

If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Jhansi to Orchha. Buses run frequently and the journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Upon reaching Orchha, you can hire an auto-rickshaw or walk to Raja Mahal, which is about 2 km from the bus stop. Auto-rickshaw fares typically range from INR 30-50.

Train

For those coming from further away, you can take a train to Jhansi. Once you arrive at Jhansi railway station, take a local bus or taxi to Orchha. The distance from Jhansi to Orchha is approximately 17 km. If taking a taxi, expect to pay around INR 500-700. After reaching Orchha, follow the directions to Raja Mahal as mentioned previously.
