Car
If you are driving from the center of Mahabaleshwar, head towards the Mahabaleshwar-Panchgani Road (also known as the Main Road). Follow this road for about 3.5 kilometers until you reach the junction at the entry point of Lingmala Waterfall. Keep an eye out for signs indicating 'Chinaman Waterfall' as you approach. After the junction, take a left onto the road leading to Chinaman Waterfall. The distance from this junction is approximately 2 kilometers, and the road may be narrow and winding, so drive carefully. You will find a parking area near the waterfall entrance, where a small fee may be charged for parking.
Public Transportation
To reach Chinaman Waterfall via public transportation, you can take a local bus or hire a taxi from the main bus stand in Mahabaleshwar. Board a bus heading towards Panchgani and ask the driver to drop you off at the Lingmala Waterfall stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 kilometers to reach Chinaman Waterfall. Follow the signs along the pathway, and be prepared for some uneven terrain. If you prefer a taxi, negotiate the fare beforehand, as the cost may vary. The taxi ride should cost around ₹300-₹500 depending on your bargaining skills and the distance covered.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and are staying in nearby accommodations, you can choose to walk to Chinaman Waterfall. From the center of Mahabaleshwar, walk towards the Mahabaleshwar-Panchgani Road and follow the directions for the car route provided above. It will take approximately 40-50 minutes to walk the distance of about 6-7 kilometers. Ensure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water, as the trek can be tiring.
