Banganga Walkeshwar Walking Tour
Unforgettable first day in Mumbai!
We did two tours with Akash (Bangaga and the heritage tour. Both were an absolutely fascinating introduction to Mumbai's history, local industry, and spiritual traditions. As someone who grew up in the area, Akash was able to share all kinds of stories about each place we visited, each of which really brought the city to life. He is very well-versed in Indian history and world history, so he was able to give us a some really good context for how the city has developed over time and he was also very willing to answer our many questions and recommended a great restaurant for us to grab lunch at between the two tours and even helped us find a pharmacy at the end of the tour. If you do any tours while here in Mumbai, these two can't be missed! Highlights of this tour: getting to observe local devotional life at a neighborhood temple to Lord Shiva that was more than 150 years old. Also, since Akash is involved in the local music scene as an artisit an lyricist, we were able to learn a bit about that as well
