From the Mall Road in Manali, head towards the direction of Hadimba Temple. Follow the path that leads you towards the Old Manali area. Once you reach the Old Manali bridge, continue straight towards the Leh Highway. After crossing the bridge, look for local signs pointing to Solang Valley. It's about a 12-15 minute walk from here. You can also ask locals for directions to Solang Valley.
