Getting There

• Walking from Mcleodganj

  From anywhere in Mcleodganj, head towards Bhagsunag Road. You can ask locals for directions to Bhagsunag Temple as it is a well-known landmark. Once you reach the temple, continue on Bhagsunag Road for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach the base of the Triund trek. The trek starts here, and there is a clearly marked trail. Be prepared for a moderate climb of about 9 kilometers to reach Triund, which takes approximately 4-6 hours.

• Trekking

  The trek to Triund is the main activity. It is relatively easy but involves a steep ascent. Ensure you have proper trekking shoes and carry enough water and snacks. Along the way, you will encounter beautiful views of the Dhauladhar ranges. It is advisable to start early in the morning to avoid the afternoon heat and enjoy the views.

• Hiring a Guide

  If you prefer a guided experience, you can hire a local trekking guide. This can be arranged at various shops in Mcleodganj or at the base of the trek. The cost for a guide typically ranges from INR 1,500 to INR 3,000 depending on the group size and services included.

• Transportation from Dharamshala

  If you're traveling from Dharamshala, you can take a local bus or hire a taxi to Mcleodganj. Buses run frequently and cost around INR 20-30. Taxis can cost between INR 500 to INR 1,000 depending on your negotiation skills.

• Accommodations

  If you plan on staying overnight at Triund, you will need to carry your camping gear or book a campsite in advance. There are several camping options available for around INR 1,000 to INR 2,500 per night, including meals.
