Car
If you're starting from Shillong, take NH6 towards Jowai. Continue on NH6 for about 90 km until you reach Jowai. At Jowai, take the left onto the Jowai-Nongkhnum Road. Drive for approximately 30 km until you reach the village of Nongkhnum. From Nongkhnum village, follow the local roads for about 5 km to reach Kshaid Thum. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for rural roads, as they can be narrow and unpaved in parts.
Public Transportation (Bus)
From Shillong, board a bus to Jowai at the Shillong Bus Station. The journey takes around 3 hours and costs approximately ₹100-₹150. Once in Jowai, you can hire a local cab or auto-rickshaw to Nongkhnum village, which will cost around ₹500-₹700 for the 30 km ride. After reaching Nongkhnum village, you can ask locals for directions, as Kshaid Thum is known to the villagers.
