Car
If you are driving from Shillong, take the NH6 highway towards Jowai. After approximately 56 km, you will reach the town of Jowai. From Jowai, take the road towards Wahkhim. Continue for about 10 km until you reach the village of Wahkhim. The Laitkynsew viewpoint is located near the village, and you can use the coordinates 25.2171005, 91.6852876 to help navigate. Parking is available near the viewpoint.
Public Transportation (Bus)
From Shillong, you can take a bus to Jowai. Buses leave regularly from the Shillong bus station. The ride takes about 2 hours and costs around 100 INR. Once you reach Jowai, you can take a shared taxi or local cab to Wahkhim. The shared taxi will cost approximately 50-100 INR per person and takes about 30 minutes to reach Wahkhim. From there, you can either walk or take a short local taxi ride to the Laitkynsew viewpoint.
Local Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a local taxi from Shillong that will take you directly to Laitkynsew viewpoint. The taxi fare will vary but expect to pay around 1,500 to 2,000 INR for a round trip. Make sure to negotiate the price before the journey. The taxi driver will be familiar with the area and can take you right to the viewpoint.
