Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, begin your journey in Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. From Shillong, take the NH6 highway heading south towards Nongpoh. After approximately 26 km, take the exit towards the NH40 highway, continuing for another 45 km until you reach the town of Nongstoin. From Nongstoin, follow the signs towards Nongriat, which is about 14 km away. The last stretch will lead you through a narrow road; keep an eye out for signposts indicating Phot Sumchrieh. The exact destination is at 788J+HWR, Nongnah, Meghalaya 793106. Ensure you have a GPS or a reliable map app for navigation, as some roads may not be well-marked.

  To reach Phot Sumchrieh by public transport, start at the Shillong Bus Stand. You can catch a bus heading toward Nongstoin, with several departures throughout the day.
