Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. Head out on NH6 towards Mawsynram. After approximately 56 km, you will reach the intersection for Mawsynram. Take the left turn onto the Unnamed Road (you can use navigation apps to help find this), and continue until you reach the coordinates 6HXF+648. This road is scenic and offers beautiful views. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition as some parts may be unpaved. Parking is available at the viewpoint.
Public Transportation
If you're opting for public transport, take a shared taxi or bus from Shillong to Mawsynram. These vehicles regularly depart from the main taxi stand in Shillong. The journey will take around 2-3 hours. Once you arrive in Mawsynram, you can hire a local taxi to take you to the Weikynmei View Point (6HXF+648, Unnamed Road). Ensure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which should be around INR 300-500 one way depending on your negotiation skills. Local taxis are usually available near the bus stop.
Walking
For adventurous travelers, if you're close enough to Mawsynram village, you can consider walking to the viewpoint. The area around Mawsynram is picturesque, and walking will give you the chance to explore the surroundings. However, make sure to have proper footwear as some paths may be uneven. The distance from Mawsynram to the viewpoint is about 3 km, so plan accordingly with water and snacks.
