Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Aizawl city center. Head southwest on NH 6 towards Sihhmui. Continue on NH 6 for about 16 km until you reach the junction at Sihhmui. Turn left onto the road leading towards Tlabung. Keep following this road for another 20 km until you reach the sign for Azuali waterfalls. From here, a small dirt road leads directly to the waterfall site. Parking is available nearby, but be cautious as the road can be narrow and winding.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take a shared taxi or bus from Aizawl to Tlabung. The fare will range from INR 50 to INR 100, depending on the mode of transport. Once you reach Tlabung, you will need to hire a local taxi or a bike for approximately INR 300 to INR 500 to take you to the waterfall site. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand. The local drivers are familiar with the area and can guide you to the best routes.
Hiking
For the adventurous, you can hike to Azuali waterfalls from the nearest road access point. After reaching Tlabung by public transport, ask locals for directions to the hiking trail. The trailhead is located a short walk from Tlabung and will lead you through dense woods and scenic landscapes. This hike is approximately 3 km long and can take around 1-2 hours depending on your pace. Ensure to wear sturdy shoes and carry water as the trail can be challenging.
