Amazing, varied and interesting walk through Mysore with Shivakumar

Was an amazing evening we spent with Shivakumar who is a ‘son of Mysore’. He knew the city well, was passionate about sharing information and telling us about his city. Shiva was knowledgeable, engaging and fun to be with. As it was late in the evening, and it was a Sunday, he remembered the palace would be illuminated and took us to see this though it wasn’t on our itinerary - was simply breathtaking. The walk through the market was colourful and very interesting- flowers, fruits, vegetables, puja items- as was the potted history of the Wodeyar dynasty. Would highly recommend!

We joined Fez’s walking and food evening tour. He told us about Mysore history in an engaging, fun and very knowledgable way with lots of story telling in better English than us. A magical mystery tour of history, flower and vegetable markets before a foodie night out at his favourite haunts. We had some of the best food of our 3 week trip with surprises and stories of the food preparation and culture behind it. Not to be missed. We also asked Fez to be our guide for the next day. He took us to Tippu Sultan’s summer palace, a funeral spot on the river and Mysore Palace. Again, his history and knowledge is second to none and he kept us clinging to every word for four hours. His enthusiasm and story telling is second to none and we learnt so much. His patience, knowledge, personality and professionalism is a delight. We feel so lucky to have found him as our guide. Thank you Fez, you made our time in Mysore so special.

Great experience doing a walk tour in Mysore. Our guide was very flexible and made sure that we saw and enjoy the most important areas in Mysore. I would highlight the visit to a very local place where we tried the sarsaparrilla, a traditional drink. I truly recommend this company for waking tours in Mysore. Thank you!
