Car
If you are driving from Guwahati, take National Highway 27 towards Nagaon. Continue on NH27 and then merge onto NH39 towards Numaligarh. Follow NH39 for about 200 km until you reach Numaligarh. The Deopahar Archaeological Site is located just off NH39 at JP2J+QC8, Numaligarh, Assam 785699. Look for signs and a small parking area near the site.
Public Transportation - Bus
From Guwahati, you can take a state-run or private bus to Bokakhat. Buses run frequently and take about 4-5 hours. Once you reach Bokakhat, you can hire a local taxi or an autorickshaw to reach Numaligarh, which is approximately 30 km away. The fare for the taxi should be around INR 700-1000 depending on negotiation.
Public Transportation - Train
Take a train from Guwahati to the nearest railway station, which is Numaligarh Junction. Trains such as the Kamakhya-Kanyakumari Express operate on this route. Upon arrival at Numaligarh Junction, you can take an auto-rickshaw or a taxi to the Deopahar Archaeological Site, which is roughly 5 km away. Auto-rickshaw fares typically range from INR 100-150.
Local Transport - Auto-rickshaw
Once in Numaligarh, you can use auto-rickshaws to reach the Deopahar Archaeological Site. They are readily available and can take you directly to the site. The fare should be around INR 50-100 for a one-way trip depending on your starting point.
