Car
If you're driving from Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, head south on NH6 towards Jowai. The distance is approximately 70 km and will take around 2 hours. Once you reach Jowai, continue towards Nartiang, which is about 20 km away. Follow the signs to Nartiang Monoliths. Upon arrival, you will find parking available near the site.
Public Bus
From Shillong, you can take a bus to Jowai from the bus station near the Police Bazar area. The bus fare is around ₹100-₹150 and the journey takes about 2-3 hours. Once in Jowai, you can hire a local taxi or auto-rickshaw to Nartiang, which will cost you approximately ₹300-₹500. The ride to Nartiang will take an additional 30 minutes.
Shared Taxi
Alternatively, you can opt for a shared taxi from Shillong to Jowai. Shared taxis are available from the same bus station and cost around ₹150-₹200. From Jowai, take a local taxi to Nartiang. This option may be quicker as shared taxis tend to leave when full, and you can expect to reach Nartiang in about 30 minutes after leaving Jowai.
Local Transport
Once in Nartiang, you can explore the area by walking. The Nartiang Monoliths are located at H6F8+HFR, Nartiang Rd, and are easily accessible on foot from the center of the village. Be prepared for a short walk, as the monoliths are a notable sight in the area.
