The drive from Delhi to Leh will take approximately 2-3 days, depending on your stops and road conditions. Once in Leh, continue on NH 1 towards Khardungla Pass. From Khardungla, continue following the signs towards Karakoram Pass. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition and check for any travel advisories or road closures.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from the nearest major city in Northern Plains, such as Delhi, to Leh. The Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) and Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC) operate regular bus services. The journey takes about 24-30 hours. Once you arrive in Leh, you can hire local taxis to reach Karakoram Pass. The taxi fare to Karakoram Pass from Leh may range from ₹3000 to ₹5000 depending on negotiation and vehicle type.

• Shared Taxi

  Once in Leh, you can opt for a shared taxi service that travels to Karakoram Pass. These taxis are available at taxi stands near the Leh market. The cost is generally lower when shared with other passengers, usually around ₹1000-₹1500 per person. This option also allows you to meet fellow travelers and share the experience. • Motorbike Rental

  For the adventurous traveler, renting a motorbike in Leh is a popular option. Several rental shops are available, and prices typically range from ₹800 to ₹1500 per day, depending on the bike model.
