Travel Guide to Dhauli hill Shanti Stupa

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Bhubaneswar, head south on NH16 towards Khandagiri. After about 7 km, take the exit for Dhauli. Follow the signs to Dhauli Hill, which will lead you to the parking area near the base of the Shanti Stupa. Note that parking fees may apply, typically around ₹20-₹30. From the parking area, you can walk to the Shanti Stupa, which is approximately a 10-minute walk uphill.

• Public Bus

  You can take a public bus from Bhubaneswar to Dhauli. Look for buses that head towards Puri or you can ask for buses going to Dhauli directly. The bus fare is usually around ₹10-₹15. Once you reach the Dhauli bus stop, it's a short walk (approximately 15 minutes) to the Shanti Stupa. Follow the signs leading to Dhauli Hill.

• Auto-rickshaw

  For a more convenient option, hire an auto-rickshaw from Bhubaneswar city. Negotiate the fare beforehand; it typically ranges from ₹150 to ₹300 depending on your starting point. The auto will drop you at the base of the Shanti Stupa, after which it will be a short walk uphill to reach the monument.

• Taxi or Ride-sharing

  You can book a taxi or use ride-sharing services like Ola or Uber. This is the most comfortable option, especially if you're traveling in a group. The fare from Bhubaneswar to Dhauli will generally be around ₹300 to ₹500. The driver will drop you off at the entrance, and it’s a short walk to the stupa.
