Bus
From Panaji, head to the nearest bus station, which is located at the ISBT (Inter-State Bus Terminal) near the Kadamba Bus Stand. You can take a local taxi or a rickshaw there. Once at the bus terminal, look for buses heading towards Calangute. The buses are frequent, and you will find a sign indicating the route. The journey to Calangute Beach will take approximately 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic. Once you reach the Calangute bus stop, exit the bus and walk straight for about 10 minutes towards the beach. You'll first see shops and eateries; just continue straight until you reach the sandy shores of Calangute Beach.
Rickshaw
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire an auto-rickshaw from anywhere in Panaji. Simply tell the driver 'Calangute Beach'. The journey will take around 30-40 minutes. The drivers are usually familiar with the area, but it’s advisable to check if they know the route. Once you arrive at Calangute Beach, you can ask the driver to drop you off near the main entrance, which is close to several beach shacks and amenities.
Motorbike Rental
For those looking for a bit of adventure, consider renting a motorbike. You can find rental shops in Panaji. After renting, take the NH66 highway heading north towards Calangute. The ride will take about 30 minutes. Follow the signs for Calangute Beach. Upon reaching the beach area, look for the parking areas available near the entrance to the beach. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local traffic rules.
