The drive takes approximately 10-12 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. Make sure to refuel at towns along the way as there are long stretches without services. Upon reaching Jaisalmer, follow signs to the city center and enter through the Amar Sagar Pol to reach the fort.
By Train
To reach Jaisalmer Fort via train, book a ticket to Jaisalmer Railway Station. Trains from major cities like Jodhpur, Jaipur, and Delhi are available. The train ride from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer takes about 5-6 hours. Once you arrive at Jaisalmer Railway Station, you can hire a taxi or an auto-rickshaw to the fort, which is about 2 km from the station. The fare should be around ₹100-₹200.
