Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the main bus station in Rishikesh. Head towards the Laxman Jhula bridge, which is approximately a 30-minute walk (2.5 km) from the bus station. Once you reach Laxman Jhula, cross the bridge to the other side of the Ganges river. After crossing, continue straight on the main road for around 1 km until you reach the fork in the road. Take the left path towards Neelkanth Mahadev Temple. You will see signs pointing towards Nilkanth Waterfalls. Continue walking on this road for about 5 km, which will lead you through a lush forest area. Look out for the signposts directing you to Nilkanth Waterfalls. The path will take you downhill, and you will eventually hear the sound of the water. The total walking time from Laxman Jhula to Nilkanth Waterfalls will be about 1.5 to 2 hours.

• Local Bus

  From the main bus station in Rishikesh, find the local bus that heads towards Neelkanth Mahadev Temple. The bus ride typically takes around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple area, disembark and look for the signs leading to Nilkanth Waterfalls. The waterfalls are approximately a 15-minute walk from the temple. Follow the path that descends into the forest; you will encounter several signs pointing towards the waterfalls. The walk will take you through beautiful scenery, and you will soon hear the sound of cascading water.

• Auto-Rickshaw

  From your location in Rishikesh, take an auto-rickshaw to the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple. The ride usually takes about 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the temple, look for the signage that guides you to Nilkanth Waterfalls. The distance from the temple to the waterfalls is about 1 km, which is a pleasant 15-minute walk downhill through the forested area. Follow the path, and you will hear the sound of the waterfalls as you approach.
