Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Rishikesh, head towards the Laxman Jhula Bridge. Cross the bridge and follow the road leading up to the main street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the Mussoorie Road (NH 58). Here, you can catch a local bus or a shared taxi to Mussoorie. The bus stand is a short walk from Laxman Jhula, and the journey to Mussoorie takes about 1-1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Mussoorie, ask for directions to Khanij Nagar, where George Everest House is located. It's approximately a 15-20 minute walk uphill from the main road.

• Bus

  From Rishikesh, go to the ISBT (Inter-State Bus Terminal) near Ram Jhula. There are regular buses to Mussoorie. Purchase your ticket and board the bus heading towards Mussoorie. The journey will take about 1-1.5 hours. After arriving in Mussoorie, follow the main road and ask locals for directions to Khanij Nagar. George Everest House is a well-known landmark, so finding your way should be easy.

• Rickshaw

  You can take an auto-rickshaw from Rishikesh to Mussoorie. Just tell the driver you want to go to Mussoorie, and they will drop you off at the main market area. From there, you can hire another rickshaw or walk to Khanij Nagar. It's advisable to negotiate the fare before starting your journey. The total travel time will be around 1.5-2 hours depending on traffic.

• Shared Taxi

  Locate a shared taxi stand in Rishikesh, typically near the Laxman Jhula area. Board a shared taxi heading to Mussoorie. This is a quicker option compared to the bus, and the ride will take about 1 hour. After reaching Mussoorie, you can ask the taxi driver to drop you off near Khanij Nagar or follow the main road on foot to George Everest House, which is a short distance away.
