If you are in the heart of Shillong, start at Police Bazaar, the city center. From Police Bazaar, head north on GS Road. Walk for about 15 minutes until you reach the intersection with Malki Road. Turn right onto Malki Road. Continue straight for another 20 minutes. You will pass several local shops and eateries. Keep an eye out for the Malki Forest signpost on your left. After about 1 km, you will arrive at the entrance of Malki Forest.

Public Transport (Shared Taxi)
From Police Bazaar, you can take a shared taxi heading to Malki. Look for 'Malki' written on the taxi or ask the driver for confirmation. The fare is typically around ₹20-₹30. The journey takes about 10-15 minutes. The taxi will drop you off near the entrance of Malki Forest. From there, it’s a short walk to the forest area.

Bicycle Rental
For a more adventurous option, consider renting a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Shillong. Start from Police Bazaar, cycling along GS Road towards Malki Road. You will have to navigate through local traffic, so ensure you are comfortable riding in urban areas. Once you reach Malki Road, follow the same path as the walking route for about 1 km until you arrive at the forest entrance.
