Getting There

Walking
Start from the Shillong Police Bazaar, which is a central hub for tourists. Head southeast on Police Bazar Road towards GS Road. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the junction with the main road. Turn left onto GS Road and walk for another 1.5 kilometers. You’ll pass various local shops and eateries along the way. Keep an eye out for local buses and taxis that might be heading towards Ialong. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will reach the Iewduh (Bara Bazaar) area.

From Police Bazaar, you can catch a local bus heading towards Jowai. Look for buses with signs saying 'Jowai' or 'Ialong'. The bus will take you closer to Ialong Park. The fare is usually low, around 30-50 INR. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at Ialong. The bus will take approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you get off, follow the signs towards Ialong Park, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.

At Police Bazaar, you can hire a rickshaw to Ialong Park. Negotiate the fare beforehand; it should not exceed 300-400 INR for a one-way trip. The rickshaw will take you directly to the entrance of Ialong Park, which is about 12 kilometers away. The journey should take around 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic.
