Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the Police Bazaar area in Shillong, which is a central hub for tourists. Head towards the main road (GS Road) leading to the East Khasi Hills. Continue walking on GS Road for approximately 1.5 km until you reach the corner where you can see the sign for the Shillong-Mawphlang Road. Turn left onto this road. After about 6 km, you will reach a junction; continue straight towards Nongpoh Road. Keep walking for around 5 km. You will see a sign for Nartiang Monoliths on your left. Follow the road leading to the site, which is about 2 km away.

  • Shared Taxi

    From Police Bazaar, you can take a shared taxi (also known as 'sumo') heading to Jowai. These taxis are available at the taxi stand near the market area. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Nartiang. The journey will take about 45 minutes. Once you reach Nartiang, walk towards Nartiang Monoliths, which is approximately a 10-minute walk from where the taxi drops you off.

  • Public Bus

    From Police Bazaar, look for a bus heading to Jowai. Buses leave from the bus stand near the market area. It may take around 1 hour to reach Nartiang. After getting off at the Nartiang bus stop, walk towards the monoliths, which are about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop. Just follow the signs along the road to reach the site.
