Walking
If you are starting from Mall Road, walk towards the lift located near the Gaiety Theatre. Take the lift down to the lower bazaar area. From the lower bazaar, head towards the Lakkar Bazaar, a popular market known for wooden crafts. Continue straight along the main road until you reach the intersection with the Jakhoo Temple Road. Turn left onto Jakhoo Temple Road and continue walking. After about 1 km, you will reach a fork in the road; bear right onto the Chaura Maidan Road. The Viceregal Lodge will be on your right side. Look for signs directing you to Rashtrapati Nivas.

Public Transport (Bus)
From the Mall Road, walk to the nearest bus stop located near the lift. Take a Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus heading towards Boileauganj. The bus will take you through Shimla's main roads, and you can get down at the Observatory Hill stop. From the bus stop, walk up the Chaura Maidan Road for about 500 meters; the Viceregal Lodge will be on your left side. Make sure to check the bus timings as they may vary.

If you are up for an adventure, you can trek from the Mall Road to the Viceregal Lodge. Begin your trek by heading towards Jakhoo Temple. Follow the trail that leads you through the forested area. After reaching the temple, continue on the path down towards the Chaura Maidan Road. This trek will take approximately 30-45 minutes, and you will enjoy beautiful scenic views along the way. Upon reaching Chaura Maidan Road, the Viceregal Lodge will be on your right.
