Car
If you are driving, start from Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Take the NH10 highway towards Pakyong. After about 30 km, you will reach Pakyong, where you can enjoy scenic views. Continue on the road for approximately 40 km to reach the town of Naitam, and then follow the signs to the Zero Point area, which is located about 20 km further. Make sure to check local road conditions as the area can be prone to landslides.
Public Transportation (Shared Jeep)
From Gangtok, you can take a shared jeep from the Sikkim National Transport (SNT) bus station. Look for jeeps heading to Zero Point or nearby destinations like Nathula Pass. The cost for a shared jeep is approximately INR 600-800 per person. The journey will take about 3-4 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Make sure to start early as the jeeps usually depart in the morning.
Trekking
For the adventurous, a trekking option exists if you are already in the vicinity of the nearby passes like Nathula. You can trek from the base of the pass towards Zero Point, which is about a 4-5 hour hike. Ensure you are well-prepared with proper trekking gear and sufficient water and snacks. This option may not be suitable for all tourists, so consider your fitness level.
Use Zero Point as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
