If you're driving, Belum Caves is located approximately 300 km from Hyderabad. Start your journey on NH44 (National Highway 44) heading south. Continue on NH44 for about 200 km before taking the exit towards NH40. Follow NH40 for about 80 km until you reach Kolimigundla. The caves are located opposite the Indian Oil Petrol Pump in Kolimigundla, Andhra Pradesh. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel, as services can be sparse along the route.
Public Transport - Bus
For those opting for public transport, you can take a bus from major cities like Hyderabad or Vijayawada to Kolimigundla. Buses are available from both cities to Kolimigundla, and the journey takes approximately 7-8 hours from Hyderabad. Once you arrive in Kolimigundla, you can take a local auto-rickshaw to reach Belum Caves, which is about 3 km away from the bus station. The auto-rickshaw fare should be around INR 50-100.
Train
You can also take a train to the nearest railway station, which is in Tadipatri, about 30 km from Belum Caves. From there, you can hire a taxi or an auto-rickshaw to reach the caves. You can book a train from cities like Hyderabad or Chennai to Tadipatri. Train travel is generally economical and can take around 5-6 hours depending on the train and the route. Expect to pay around INR 300-600 for a ticket depending on the class.
Local Transport
Once you arrive in Kolimigundla, you can use local transportation options such as auto-rickshaws or rented bikes to explore the area. If you are staying overnight or planning to visit nearby attractions, consider renting a vehicle for greater convenience. Always agree on a fare before starting your ride.
