Car
If you are driving, start from your location in Sundarbans and head towards Canning. Follow the road signs leading to Canning, which is approximately 40 km away from most parts of Sundarbans. Once you reach Canning, take the road towards Kakdwip. After approximately 20 km, you will see signs for Halliday Island. Continue on this road until you reach the ferry terminal at the riverbank. Here, you will need to park your car in the designated area.

Public Transportation
To reach Halliday Island via public transportation, take a local bus or shared auto-rickshaw from your location in Sundarbans to Canning bus station. The fare is usually around ₹30-₹50. From Canning, you can catch another bus or shared auto-rickshaw to Kakdwip, which should cost around ₹20. Once you arrive in Kakdwip, you will need to get to the ferry terminal. This can be done by either walking (if close) or taking a local cycle-rickshaw for about ₹20. At the ferry terminal, you will need to buy a ticket for the ferry to Halliday Island, which costs about ₹100. The ferry ride will take approximately 30-45 minutes.

Once you arrive at the ferry terminal in Kakdwip, purchase your ticket to Halliday Island. The ferry operates regularly, but it's advisable to check the schedule as it may vary. The journey across the river offers scenic views of the mangroves and wildlife of Sundarbans. Make sure to keep your belongings secure and enjoy the ride. Upon reaching Halliday Island, you can disembark and head to the sanctuary entrance.
