Getting there

Car

If you are driving from nearby towns like Canning or Basanti, take the Canning-Mathurapur Road (also known as Canning-Haripur Road) towards Canning. From Canning, continue on the road towards the Sundarbans. Follow the signs directing you to Karamjal. The last stretch will involve a narrow road leading to the entrance of Karamjal Ecological Park. Make sure to have cash on hand for any entrance fees.

Public Bus

Catch a local bus from Kolkata to Canning at the bus terminal. Buses run frequently and the journey takes about 2-3 hours. Upon reaching Canning, you can either take a shared auto-rickshaw or a local taxi to reach the Karamjal entrance. Make sure to confirm the drop-off point as some auto-rickshaws may not go all the way to Karamjal.

Auto-Rickshaw

If you are already in Canning, you can hire an auto-rickshaw directly to Karamjal. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Negotiate the fare beforehand, as prices may vary. Ensure that the driver knows the Karamjal Ecological Park; it's a popular destination, and most drivers will be familiar with it.

Boat Transfer

Once you reach the Karamjal entrance by car or auto-rickshaw, you may need to take a small boat transfer to enter the park, especially during high tides.
