Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, start by taking the NH65 highway. From Hyderabad, head towards Sangareddy and then continue on NH65 towards Medak. After you reach the Medak town area, look for signs directing you to Medak Fort, located in the Arabgalli area. The fort is approximately 100 km from Hyderabad and should take around 2 to 3 hours depending on traffic. Once you reach the fort, you will find a parking area available nearby.

Public Bus

For public transportation, you can board a bus from Hyderabad to Medak. Buses frequently depart from the MGBS (Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station) in Hyderabad. Look for buses heading to Medak or Sangareddy. The journey will take approximately 3 to 4 hours. Once you reach the Medak bus station, you can take an auto-rickshaw or a local taxi to Medak Fort, which is around 6 km away. The auto-rickshaw fare should be around ₹100-₹150.

Shared Taxi/Auto-Rickshaw

Once you arrive in Medak via bus, you can opt for shared taxis or auto-rickshaws to reach Medak Fort. Auto-rickshaws are available outside the bus station, and you can negotiate the fare, which is typically around ₹100-₹150 for the short ride. If you prefer more comfort, you can hire a shared taxi, which may cost slightly more but can accommodate a group.

Walking

If you enjoy walking and are already in the vicinity of Medak Fort, you can choose to walk from the bus station to the fort. The distance is approximately 6 km and will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Ensure to wear comfortable footwear and carry water, as the path may be uneven and the weather can be hot.
