Travel Guide to Surai Waterfall

Getting There

• Car

  If you have a car, start by driving to Joshimath, which is the nearest town to Valley of Flowers National Park. From Joshimath, take the road towards Auli and continue until you reach the junction for Mirag. Turn onto the road towards Mirag. After approximately 7 kilometers, you will find a sign indicating Surai Waterfall. Park your vehicle at the designated parking area, and follow the short walking trail leading to the waterfall, which is about 1 km from the parking area.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Surai Waterfall via public transportation, first take a bus or shared taxi from your location in Valley of Flowers or nearby areas to Joshimath. Once you arrive in Joshimath, find a local taxi or shared auto-rickshaw that goes towards Auli and ask the driver to drop you off at the junction for Mirag. From the junction, it is a short 7 km trek towards the waterfall. You may need to arrange for a local guide or check for any available local transport to cover this distance, as public transport options may be limited. Ensure you have cash for bus fares and local transport fees.

• Walking

  If you're already in Valley of Flowers National Park and prefer to walk or hike, you can start from the main trekking paths in the park. Head towards Joshimath first, and then follow the path leading to Mirag. This will be a longer trek, approximately 15-20 km depending on your starting point, and can take several hours. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks, and wear appropriate trekking gear. Look for local signage along the way that indicates the direction to Surai Waterfall.
