Walking
If you are starting from the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, head southwest on Vishwanath Gali towards the Main Ghat. Continue straight until you reach Dashashwamedh Ghat. From Dashashwamedh Ghat, walk along the riverbank (Ganga) towards the south. You will pass several other ghats, including Manikarnika Ghat. Keep walking for about 20 minutes until you reach Assi Ghat, which is marked by its distinctive architecture and lively atmosphere.
Rickshaw
From your location in Varanasi, you can hire an auto-rickshaw. Simply tell the driver 'Assi Ghat' or show them the address: 'Nagwa Rd, Assi Ghat, Shivala, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh 221005'. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. The rickshaw will drop you off near the entrance to Assi Ghat, from where you can walk to the riverside.
Cycle Rickshaw
You can also take a cycle rickshaw from any central location in Varanasi. Make sure to specify 'Assi Ghat' to the rickshaw puller. The journey should take around 20-30 minutes. Cycle rickshaws are a great way to experience the local scenery. After arriving, walk towards the river to reach the main ghat area.
Local Bus
You can take a local bus that goes towards Sigra or Assi. Check with locals for the nearest bus stop and the bus number that goes to Assi Ghat. Once you get off, ask for directions to Assi Ghat. It is a short walk of about 5-10 minutes from the bus stop.
