Walking
If you are in the heart of Varanasi, start your journey by heading towards the riverfront. From Dashashwamedh Ghat, the most famous ghat, walk south along the riverbank. You will encounter a series of smaller ghats as you stroll along the Ganges. Continue walking until you reach the Manikarnika Ghat, which is well-known for its cremation rituals. From there, take a right turn and follow the narrow lane leading towards Ghasi Tola. Continue straight until you see the signs for Chet Singh Fort (चेट सिंह किला) on your left.
Rickshaw
If you prefer a faster option, you can hire a cycle rickshaw from any central location in Varanasi. Simply inform the rickshaw puller that you want to go to Chet Singh Fort (चेट सिंह किला) near Ghasi Tola. Most rickshaw drivers will know the location. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you reach Ghasi Tola, ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance of the fort.
Boat
For a unique experience, consider taking a boat ride along the Ganges River. Start from any ghat where boat services are available, like Dashashwamedh Ghat. Negotiate with a boatman to take you towards Chet Singh Fort. The boat will drop you off at a point near the fort, and from there, you can walk a short distance to the entrance. This option provides a beautiful view of the ghats and the city from the river.
