Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Kolkata. Take the NH12 highway towards Krishnanagar. After approximately 100 km, you will reach the town of Raipur. From Raipur, take the road towards Bongaon and follow the signs to Char Ramnagar. Continue on this road for about 30 km until you reach Ramnagar Ghat Road. You will find Ramnagar North Island on your left. Ensure you have a GPS or a map handy, as some roads may not have clear signage.
Train and Auto Rickshaw
For those opting for public transportation, first, take a train from Kolkata to Canning (the train journey takes about 1.5 hours). Once you arrive at Canning station, hire an auto rickshaw or a local taxi to take you to Ramnagar Ghat Road. The auto rickshaw ride will take around 30 minutes and costs approximately ₹100-₹150. Ensure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey.
Bus and Auto Rickshaw
You can also take a bus from Kolkata to Canning, which is a budget-friendly option. Buses leave from various points in Kolkata, including Esplanade and Howrah. The bus journey takes around 2 hours and costs roughly ₹50-₹80. Upon reaching Canning, you can then take an auto rickshaw to Ramnagar North Island, which will take about 30 minutes at a cost of ₹100-₹150. Make sure to check the bus timings in advance, as they can vary.
