Getting There

• Public Bus

  From Carmel, head to the nearest bus stop on the Carmel Public Transit route. You can catch the 'Route 61' bus, which will take you south towards Indianapolis. Stay on the bus until you reach the 'Washington St & White River Pkwy' stop. From there, walk west along Washington Street for about 0.5 miles, and you will arrive at the Indianapolis Zoo at 1200 W Washington St.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike-sharing stations in Carmel. Head south on the Monon Trail until you reach the intersection with 116th St. Turn left onto 116th St and continue until you reach Keystone Ave. Turn right onto Keystone Ave and follow it south until you reach Washington St. Turn left onto Washington St, and after about 1.5 miles, you'll arrive at the Indianapolis Zoo located at 1200 W Washington St.

• Walking

  For those who enjoy walking, start at the Carmel Arts & Design District. Head south on Main St until you reach 3rd Ave SW. Turn left and continue until you reach 116th St. Turn right on 116th St and walk until you reach Keystone Ave. Cross Keystone Ave and continue walking south. After approximately 2 miles, turn left onto Washington St, and you will find the Indianapolis Zoo at 1200 W Washington St.
