If you are driving from Indianapolis, take I-70 W towards Terre Haute. Continue on I-70 W for about 45 miles. Take exit 41 to merge onto US-231 S towards Crawfordsville. After about 15 miles, turn left onto IN-47 S. Drive for 5 miles, then turn right onto County Road 890 W. Follow this road for about 4 miles, and you will arrive at Shades State Park, located at 7751 S 890 W, Waveland, IN 47989.

From Indianapolis, take a Greyhound or Megabus to Crawfordsville. Once you arrive in Crawfordsville, you will need to arrange for a ride, as public transportation options to Shades State Park are limited. You can use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft, or consider renting a car. The drive from Crawfordsville to Shades State Park is about 20 minutes. Head south on US-231 S, then turn left onto IN-47 S, followed by a right onto County Road 890 W to reach the park.

From Terre Haute, take I-70 E towards Indianapolis. After about 25 miles, take exit 41 to merge onto US-231 S towards Crawfordsville.
