From anywhere in Gary, head to the nearest bus stop and take the Gary Public Transportation Corporation (GPTC) bus towards Chicago. Check the GPTC schedule for routes heading to the South Shore Line station. Once you arrive at the South Shore Line station, board a train heading towards Chicago. After approximately 50 minutes, disembark at the Museum Campus/11th Street station. From there, walk east towards Lake Shore Drive. The Adler Planetarium will be located at 1300 S Lake Shore Dr, just a short walk along the lakefront.

If you prefer biking, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Gary. Start by heading towards the South Shore Line station, using local bike paths.
