Bus
From downtown Gary, head to the nearest bus stop on Broadway. Take the Gary Public Transportation Corporation (GPTC) Route 1 bus towards the South Shore Rail Station. Ride the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the South Shore Rail Station. From there, board a South Shore Line train towards Chicago. The train ride will take about an hour. Disembark at the Millennium Station in Chicago. Once you arrive, walk to the nearby bus stop and catch the #66 Chicago Avenue bus heading west. After about 20 minutes, get off at the stop near W Superior St. Walk east for two blocks, and you will arrive at the Poetry Foundation at 61 W Superior St.
Train and Walk
From Gary, head to the South Shore Rail Station by taking a local bus or walking if you are nearby. Purchase a ticket for the South Shore Line train heading to Chicago. Once on the train, it will take roughly an hour to reach Millennium Station in Chicago. When you exit the station, walk northeast towards Michigan Ave and then west down Chicago Ave. Continue for about 10 blocks until you reach W Superior St, then turn right. The Poetry Foundation will be on your left at 61 W Superior St.
