    Bus

    From downtown Gary, walk to the nearest bus stop at Broadway & 5th Ave. Take the Gary Public Transportation Corporation (GPTC) bus route 10 towards 5th Ave & 19th St. Ride for about 20 minutes until you reach the stop at 5th Ave & 29th St. Then transfer to the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) bus route 151 towards Museum Campus. Ride for approximately 50 minutes until you arrive at North Ave & Lake Shore Drive. From there, it's a short 10-minute walk east to South Pond located within Lincoln Park.

    Train

    Start at the Gary Metro Center and take the South Shore Line train towards Chicago. Get off at the Millennium Station in Chicago. From Millennium Station, walk to the State/Lake subway station and take the CTA Red Line train towards Howard. Get off at the Fullerton station. Once you exit, walk west on Fullerton Ave for about 15 minutes until you reach South Pond in Lincoln Park.

    Walking

    If you are near the Gary City Hall, you can walk directly to the South Pond in Lincoln Park, but it's quite a distance (about 30 miles). Head north on Broadway and continue walking until you reach the Chicago city limits. Once in Chicago, continue towards Lincoln Park. Keep following the signs for Lincoln Park, and you will eventually reach South Pond. However, please be mindful of the long distance and consider public transport for a more comfortable journey.
