Start from downtown Michigan City, at the intersection of Franklin St and 5th St. Head east on 5th St toward Pine St. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Lake Shore Dr. Turn left onto Lake Shore Dr and walk north along the scenic route. After about 1 mile, you will arrive at the entrance to Lake Kai on your right. Follow the path leading to the lake.

From the Michigan City Public Library, head east on 5th St toward Pine St. After 0.3 miles, turn left onto Lake Shore Dr. Continue biking north for approximately 1 mile, enjoying the views of the lake. Look for the entrance to Lake Kai on your right side, and follow the path to the lake.

Take the Michigan City Transit Bus, Line 1, from the Michigan City Transit Center. Ride for about 25 minutes and get off at the stop nearest to Lake Shore Dr and 8th St. From there, walk north on Lake Shore Dr for approximately 0.5 miles. The entrance to Lake Kai will be on your right. Follow the path leading to the lake.
