Getting There

  • Car

    From Morgan-Monroe State Forest, head north on State Road 37. Continue on SR-37 for approximately 15 miles until you reach the intersection with State Road 45. Take the exit toward Bloomington and merge onto State Road 45. Continue on State Road 45 for about 4 miles, then turn left onto Indiana Avenue. Follow Indiana Avenue through downtown Bloomington until you reach E 6th St. Turn right onto E 6th St, and the Monroe County History Center will be on your left at 202 E 6th St.

    If you prefer public transportation, you will need to first take a local shuttle or taxi service from Morgan-Monroe State Forest to Bloomington. As Morgan-Monroe does not have direct public transportation, a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) is recommended. Once in Bloomington, you can use the Bloomington Transit bus system. Take Bus 1 (Blue Route) from the nearest stop to your drop-off point to the downtown area.
