Starting from the center of Morgan-Monroe State Forest, head south on State Road 37. After approximately 5 miles, turn left onto State Road 39. Continue on State Road 39 for about 10 miles until you reach the town of Waveland. In Waveland, turn right onto County Road 890 W, and follow it for about 3 miles. Shades State Park will be on your left at 7751 S 890 W, Waveland, IN 47989.

From Morgan-Monroe State Forest, you will need to first get to a nearby bus station that services the area, likely in Bloomington. Take a bus to Waveland (you may need to check the local bus schedules for availability and routes). Once you arrive in Waveland, you can either call a local taxi or rideshare service to take you the remaining 3 miles to Shades State Park at 7751 S 890 W, Waveland, IN 47989. Be aware that taxi or rideshare services may incur additional costs.
