Walking
If you're in downtown New Albany, start by heading south on State Street toward E 6th Street. Continue on State Street until you reach the intersection with Main Street. Turn left onto Main Street and walk for about 0.5 miles. You'll cross the Ohio River via the Big Four Bridge. Once on the Kentucky side, continue straight on River Road until you reach S 3rd Street. Turn right onto S 3rd Street, and The Filson Historical Society will be on your left at 1310 S 3rd St.

From New Albany, take the TARC bus route 14 (New Albany to Louisville). You can catch this bus at various stops in New Albany such as the New Albany Transit Center. Stay on the bus for about 15-20 minutes, and get off at the stop on S 3rd Street (near the intersection with W Oak Street). The Filson Historical Society will be a short walk from there, just a couple of blocks north on S 3rd Street at 1310 S 3rd St. Make sure to check the TARC schedule for the most current times.
