Getting There

• Walking

  From any point in River Park, head towards Northside Blvd. If you are near the river, follow the paths that lead you north along the water until you reach the intersection of Northside Blvd. Walk west along Northside Blvd for about 10-15 minutes. Keep an eye on the street signs; you will be looking for the intersection with S Notre Dame Ave. Governor Joseph Kernan Park is located at the corner of Northside Blvd. and S Notre Dame Ave.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, you can take advantage of the bike paths along the river. Start from any point in River Park and make your way to the riverfront path that leads north. Once you reach Northside Blvd, turn west and continue biking for approximately 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with S Notre Dame Ave. The park will be at that corner. Be cautious of traffic when crossing streets.

• Public Transit (Bus)

  Check the local bus schedule for routes that service River Park, such as routes that head towards downtown South Bend. Board the bus and travel to the closest stop to Northside Blvd. Once you disembark, walk north on S Notre Dame Ave until you reach the park at the intersection of Northside Blvd. and S Notre Dame Ave. Note that bus fares may vary, but typically a single ride costs around $1.50.
