Car
From The Knobs, head northeast on State Road 135 toward State Road 46. Continue on State Road 135 for approximately 10 miles until you reach the intersection with State Road 62. Turn left onto State Road 62 and continue for about 15 miles. When you reach the town of Fremont, turn right onto N Ray Rd. Wild Winds Buffalo Preserve will be on your left at 6975 N Ray Rd, Fremont, IN 46737. There is no entry fee, but be sure to check their hours of operation before you visit, as they are open from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Public Transportation
Public transportation options are limited in The Knobs. However, you can take a Greyhound bus from nearby larger cities like Bloomington or Indianapolis to Fremont. Once you arrive in Fremont, you may need to use a rideshare service such as Uber or Lyft, or arrange for a local taxi, as public transport does not extend to the preserve.
